Inscription on pin reads "This pin is one of five which connected the University of Chicago's Cosmic Ray Nuclei Experiment to the Space Shuttle Challenger for the Spacelab-2 payload (STS-51-F). This mission flew 5,284,350 km during 8 days in summer 1985."
